MINISTRIES

Reaching souls for Christ and discipling them in the ways of the Lord requires Spirit-filled, knowledgeable teachers passionate about serving the Lord and seeing others come to know Him. We are fortunate to have such men and women using their talents in their calling in many areas of service within First Baptist Church.

BIBLE INSTRUCTION

Sound Bible instruction is provided on Sundays for all age groups, and Wednesday evenings for adults. We believe in the literal, grammatical, historical, cultural approach to Bible interpretation, and teach it accordingly- usually verse by verse. Lessons are carefully prepared not only to reveal the familiar accounts, but also to reveal the Bible’s relevancy throughout the ages.

RADIO MINISTRY

Pastor John Wooden can be heard Sunday mornings at 8:45 AM on radio station WVCY, 107.7 FM, (Milwaukee, WI) during his program called “Hope for Today.” He speaks on relevant topics dealing with relationships, Christian behavior, also seasonally themed topics such as Christmas and Resurrection Sunday. NURSING HOME

We have compassion for those physically unable to make it to church and visit them on a regular basis. For these folks, its the only time they get to hear the Word of God preached, and sing the hymns they sang in the past. This ministry is also a “first step” for young Christians to begin their service to the Lord in a Gospel ministry.

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL

What a Bible-filled, fun-filled week this is for the purpose of planting biblical truth into the hearts and minds of youngsters, and watching as those seeds sprout into a knowledge of Jesus Christ. Many in our church provide their time, talents, and treasures to make this a Spirit-filled success. God has blessed greatly in this ministry.
