Romans 1:21-23 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.
The phrase ‘pro-choice’ is simply another way to say ‘pro-sin.’ It means ‘without conscience,’ or ‘without inhibition,’ or ‘without restraint.’ Really it is the result of a hedonistic world where the only rule is to do what makes one happy. The argument really is not centered around whether someone loves babies or not, it is the fact that mankind loves its sin greater than anything or anyone else.
We see in Romans the causes for this deterioration in society. The first step was an ungrateful attitude for what the Lord had provided. Next, they elevated themselves to be as a god being able to decide what is right and wrong without any moral compass to direct the settings other than simply what makes one happy. Finally, then the lifting up of created things as objects to be worshipped, while devaluing what the Creator had established as sacred. This all then leads to the only thing viewed as sin for fallen man is to have any restraint placed upon their happiness.
While I mourn the loss of millions of precious lives to the atrocity of abortion the far greater need in our land is repentance for the lack of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Real advancement in the protection of the unborn must happen in the hearts of mankind accepting Jesus Christ as their Savior. The man or woman that places God in His rightful place in their life, will in turn place the value of His creation in its proper position.
